Crestor (called Rosuvastatin) is an oral substance and the routine of this medication along with the diet needs to be maintained properly. This medicine is not prescribed to the children below 10 years. This medicine should be taken under the supervision of a qualified health practitioner otherwise it might lead to severe health endangerment. Confront the doctor about your medical history and also about any diseases such as, kidney disorders, coronary diseases along with liver diseases. Again, if the patient is already taking some other medication that needs to be clarified to the doctor in order to avoid drug interactions. Restriction should be given to alcohol consumption as well as antacid pills. Antacid pills make the absorption of this medicine slow. The medicine should not be stopped without doctor’s prescription. Pregnant and nursing mothers are not supposed to take this medicine. Crestor needs to be swallowed with a full glass of water but taking it same time each day is important. It can be taken with or without food but taking Crestor with food will lower the risk of stomach disorders.
Generic Rosuvastatin drug is available in form of tablets in various strengths. The supplied strengths are 5mg, 10mg, 20mg and 50mg. It should be stored at 20-25°C (68-77°F), away from heat and moisture.
